Hello again 🙂
So yeah, in the last page or intro to our “Evolution of our Logo” I touched on a few things which we will cover here.
The American Flag, our blue oval and all the cool things contained within it.
But first, do you know which one of these are the real National Sportswear logo?
If you guessed the huge ( in your face lol) one in the middle, you would have guessed correctly. Yeah, that was a little obvious. But what is not so obvious is the seriously cool concept behind such a simple and powerful looking logo.
We call it the “Bolt.”
So much so, I think even NIKE would be proud of us 😉
First the basics!
So here is our main presentation logo. It’s pretty hard to call this a logo because in reality it is a conglomeration of a few things about our company. You could, for a better lack of terms call it our “storyboard.”
If you have a good name for it, let us know, we’d love to hear it 🙂
So for now we’ll call it our storyboard.
Let’s take a look at all the different things inside our storyboard.
First we have our name “National Sportswear” and naturally it has our Federally registered Trademark symbol which pretty much lets the consumer know that we are in fact the only registered National Sportswear with the government. Which brings us to the center of the word “National.”
As you can see, the letter “O” is something that resembles the American flag (Finally, the American flag thing we spoke about). Well, it’s not a perfect American flag, but then again what is perfect?
Note that it only has one single star in it?
Well, we did do this for a reason.
It represents our customer.
Just as in every major league ( or even minor league) sport game, there is always one single star. It is the player who out performed all the other players.
Sure, we could have said this single star is us and we outperform all other companies. And I can’t say we never thought of this. But, it is rather arrogant and we steer away from that.
It represents “you” our customer. At National Sportswear we inherit the philosophy that our customers are all individuals and in our eyes, we treat them as though they are that player in the game, the star player.
And in reality, they are. Without that star player, we simply do not have a team. Or a business for that matter.
So now you know the reasons behind our single star American Flag in the middle of “National.”
But, it doesn’t stop there 🙂
Just like a well built house, there is a foundation and many building blocks ( I suppose that’s what makes it strong.)
Next, we have the words “National Sportswear.”
Notice how the word “National” is much larger than “Sportswear” and of course it is on top?
This is because we wanted to emphasize that we are in fact “national.” We service and sell our brand name on a national level across the United States and hence the reason for our non contestable Federally registered Trademark too.
We also emphasize the word national because we began as an internet service provider of custom sportswear and our mainstream advertising was in fact national because we used the internet to get the word out “everywhere” about our company and our services under the National Sportswear name. In other words, we were one of the very first mass market via internet custom silkscreen printing and embroidery companies online.
So much so, that we used some awesome advertising strategies to introduce ourselves, that many other companies began to follow.
We constantly had competitors visiting our website and just helping themselves to our marketing ideas. They still do.
Here’s a classic example of that.
We produced this design back in 2000 🙂
It was a way to reach out to middle America and offer them what everyone was getting in “the big cities.”
An opportunity to get custom printed sportswear delivered right to their door for the same price someone in New York, Miami, Los Angeles or even Seattle would pay.
And since it is sportswear we custom printed, it only seem fair to say “we level the playing field.” 🙂
So that is pretty much it for our name “National Sportswear” portion of the Storyboard :)(
Let us know what you think so far!
And BTW, yes, we were the very first to offer all those little perks you see in that ad!
Now, everyone is doing it.
Well, maybe except for the low prices.
What most companies do from what we’ve noticed is they jack up the price then tell you those services are free. LOL who would have guessed 😉
There’s more to our name!
There’s more to the National Sportswear name portion, but we will save this for next issue where it will make much more sense to explain it.
